DocLens accesses Google Docs' revision history to reconstruct the writing process. It shows you every edit, insertion, and deletion that happened during the document's creation. All analysis happens in your browser—document content is never sent to our servers.
DocLens is not designed to detect AI usage or plagiarism. It provides factual information about the writing process—like when sessions occurred, where large blocks of text were inserted, and how much revision happened. Teachers interpret this information in context with other assessment factors.
DocLens collects minimal data. We store your account information and track which documents you've exported (document ID only, not content) to prevent duplicate exports. All document analysis happens locally in your browser. We never see or store student work, grades, or comments.
Yes. DocLens requires edit access to view revision history. If students share documents with "Can edit" permissions, you'll be able to use DocLens on those documents.
Yes! If students submit Google Docs through Classroom and you have edit access, you can use DocLens on those documents. Open the document from Classroom and click the DocLens button.
"Try Free for 14 Days" gives you full access with no credit card required. After 14 days, you'll be prompted to subscribe. "Sign Up Now" requires a credit card upfront and starts your subscription immediately, but you can cancel anytime with no penalty. Both options give you full access to all features.
After 14 days, you'll be prompted to subscribe. Your trial includes full access to all features. If you choose not to subscribe, you won't lose any data—you just won't be able to analyze new documents or export grades until you subscribe.
Yes. You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account page. You'll retain access until the end of your current billing period.

No document data is collected by or sent to any remote service by the extension. All document analysis happens locally in your browser. Document content, revision history, and analysis results never leave your computer unless you explicitly choose to export grades and comments to Google Sheets.
